We love being able to help guide and support women through this process. We have a range of services that aim to get you through your pregnancy with less pain and more strength to continue your day-to-day activities.
Every woman, and every pregnancy, is different which is why we will discuss your needs and aim to find the best approach and treatment for you. Some women find they need very little treatment throughout their pregnancy but need support to maintain their active lifestyle throughout, whilst others need a bit more maintenance and hands on treatment. Many of our Osteopaths have completed further study in obstetric Osteopathy, therefore enabling an even greater level of competence for our pregnant clients. Our Osteopaths offer prenatal pilates, which provide a wonderful compliment to hands on treatment.
Our Osteopaths aim to work with you to help achieve your optimal healthy and comfortable pregnancy, and to empower you and your baby for birthing and beyond. The changes to a woman’s body in pregnancy are numerous: there are physical changes, alteration to your centre of gravity, hormonal shifts and softening of the ligaments. Often these changes can lead to symptoms such as back pain, sciatica, swelling, and carpal tunnel. Doesn’t sound fun does it? Pregnancy doesn’t have to be doom and gloom and so much can be done to make you more comfortable and be able to enjoy the precious time in the lead up to meeting your little one. Our Osteopaths may help you to understand and manage these symptoms with a range of gentle hands on treatment techniques, as well as the supporting you with self-help strategies, education and exercise rehabilitation.
