A Consultation with an Osteopath at take2health

One of the benefits of seeing an Osteopath is the variety of techniques they have at their disposal. Within our consultations a range of techniques are employed to best suit the individual needs of the client..

Your initial consultation with an Osteopath at take2health takes around 45 minutes. This length of time allows your Osteopath to take a thorough medical history, fully assess and treat you and allows time to discuss your condition and proposed management plan. All subsequent consultations are for 30 minutes.

Our Osteopaths see the body as a whole and as such examine not only the area of your presenting complaint, but also the adjacent structures. This approach to treatment helps our practitioners identify the cause of your pain as they aim to minimise the chances of reoccurrence. The ‘hands on treatment’ component may include soft tissue massage, manipulation, craniosacral therapy, stretching and joint mobilisation.

A consultation may also involve advice on both stretching and strengthening exercises, rehabilitation, postural and ergonomic considerations. We want to empower you to be actively involved in your treatment outcomes and will always advise you on at home management strategies to get the most out of your consultation.

Osteopaths at take2health believe in finding a treatment approach that works for each individual. We will not have you book a series of unnecessary appointments. If your condition needs only a small number of treatments we will be upfront with you and appropriately discharge you. Similarly, some conditions, by nature require more ongoing treatment, again, we will discuss this with you and work to gain your best possible treatment and personal outcomes.

Our team regularly undertake ongoing professional development training both in-house and externally, which ensures they are up to date with the latest research and treatment enhancements, which in turn results in better outcomes for you, our client.
